Liverpool boss Arne Slot has confirmed that the club are currently in discussions to keep Ibrahima Konaté at Anfield by offering him a new contract. However, Slot has made it clear that the Reds are still pushing hard to convince the French centre-back to stay. His comments come shortly after Virgil van Dijk also encouraged Konaté to remain with the club.“We are in talks with Ibou Konaté over a new deal, so that tells you what we want,” Slot said. “It’s clear we want him to stay. Negotiations are ongoing, and we’ll see where that ends. We wouldn’t be negotiating if we didn’t want him to stay.”
