Title: Nadal’s Playful Banter Takes Center Court Again at the Australian Open

In a moment that echoed his infamous 2017 comment, Rafael Nadal found himself inadvertently in the spotlight again for a lighthearted yet accidental jab at his wife, Xisca Perello, during the Australian Open. This time, the tennis star playfully remarked on his wife’s nonchalant attitude after a recent on-court incident.

During an interview discussing a charming interaction with a ball girl, where Nadal planted a kiss on her cheek after an errant forehand, interviewer Sam Groth reassured Nadal not to worry about his wife’s reaction. Nadal responded with a chuckle, stating, “Oh no, I’m not worried at all. Probably after 15 years, she doesn’t care much.”

The crowd reacted with a collective laugh and gasp as Xisca Perello appeared momentarily stunned by the comment. However, Nadal swiftly shifted the conversation to the incident on the court, expressing his concern for the ball girl. “I was so scared for her. The ball was quick and straight on her. Super brave girl,” Nadal shared.

The incident brought back memories of Nadal’s 2017 remark when he humorously mentioned that Xisca had finally received a ‘wildcard’ to accompany him to the Australian Open after 12 years together. Despite the unintentional put-down, Nadal made amends in the following years, emphasizing that after 14 years together, Xisca didn’t need any wildcards – she could go wherever she wanted.

Nadal’s lighthearted banter with his wife has become a recurring theme, showcasing the couple’s playful dynamic. While the comment may have caught Xisca by surprise, their enduring relationship suggests that these moments are all in good fun. As the tennis legend continues to make headlines on and off the court, his endearing interactions and humorous remarks add a touch of charm to the intensity of the Australian Open.
