Great Britain’s Emma Raducanu appears to be on the track back to success, as she was recently selected as the Female Player of the Month by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

The 21-year old burst into the spotlight after winning her maiden Grand Slam title at the 2021 US Open, becoming the first qualifier to win a Major title in the Open Era. After a short sting that saw her reach a career-high ranking of World No.10, Raducanu had been on a downhill trajectory due to a dip in form and several injuries.

The British star underwent ankle and wrist surgeries in 2023 that saw her miss the bulk of the season. Although she returned to the WTA Tour earlier this year, Raducanu was yet to make an impact.

However, Raducanu began to rediscover her form a few weeks ago. She reached the fourth round of the Wimbledon Championships, defeating World No.33 Elise Mertens and ninth seed Maria Sakkari en route to the final eight. Raducanu would go on to defeat Mertens a second time at the DC Open, before falling in the quarterfinals to Paula Badosa.

Subsequently, her solid performance has seen her break back into the top 100, where she currently sits as World No.69. Based on her impressive feats, Raducanu was selected as the Female Player of the Month for July by the LTA, with voting done exclusively by Advantage members.
