For Anna Kalinskaya the first part of this 2025 is certainly not to be remembered: out of five tournaments played, only in Singapore he overcame the first obstacle, climbing up to the semi-finals in which, however, he had to surrender to an injury. Ko for physical problems also in the very first tournament of the season in Adelaide (so much so that the Australian Open has to miss), the Russian tennis player did not fare later, stopping in the first round also in Doha, Dubai and Indian Wells.

In the tournament in California, Kalinskaya gave the surprise step to one of the wild cards, the American Alycia Parks. All these results have weighed a lot on the ranking, where the Moscow, which has also reached the eleventh position, currently occupies the number 33 box and sees other opponents such as Magda Linette, Katie Boulter and Elina Evanesyan approaching.

A bit better has gone, so far, in doubles, where Kalinskaya arrived in the final in Brisbane together with Priscilla Hon (losing the final act of the tournament against the duo composed by Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider) and reached the quarters in Indian Wells paired with Caty McNally, before the elimination at the hands of Tereza Mihailikova and Olivia Nicholls.

On the eve of the season dedicated to red clay, Anna Kalinskaya must therefore resume pace in the singles so as not to lose additional positions in the ranking, but she could also decide to focus further on the double, given the undeniable qualities she showed in her career (3 tournaments won in the WTA circuit, as many as 8 in the ITF). We just have to wait for the next few weeks to see which way he will decide to take.
