Emma Raducanu caused speculation as she watched Carlos Alcaraz achieve back-to-back Wimbledon titles during Sunday’s Centre Court final with Novak Djokovic. Far-fetched rumours began speculating that the 21-year-old GB tennis sensation is dating the Spanish sensation, as she watched from the stands as he regained his SW19 crown over 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic.

Alcaraz and Raducanu dating rumours

In a press conference after reigning supreme, Alcaraz was quick to shut down any ideas that Raducanu was there from anything else than a fan’s perspective. When probed on her attendance, the 21-year-old champion said: “I don’t know. I guess a lot of people came to see the final.

“Novak and I we always play a spectacular match, it’s a beautiful match to see. And she is from here, so I imagine that she wanted to come and see it. If there was a Grand Slam in Murcia I would watch the finals 100 per cent. I don’t know if she came to the finals or if she came to see me. Who knows? You have to question her, but I hope she enjoyed the final.”

Raducanu has meanwhile previously admitted her admiration for Alcaraz on a professional level, explaining that she was following him during Wimbledon and taking inspiration from his style of play. She explained: “The last couple matches I’ve been following Carlos and it’s just good to watch before my own match. And sometimes in certain moments you in a way try to emulate certain shots or whatever.”

Is Raducanu single?

Prior to Wimbledon, Raducanu was dating Carlo Agostinelli – son of billionaire Robert Agostinelli, who earned his wealth as the chairman and co-founder of private equity firm Rhone Group. He is also the brother of Made In Chelsea star and model Heloise Agostinelli.

Romance started to bloom between the pair after reportedly meeting in May 2023, but the short-lived relationship would apparently come to an end last month. The tennis star has since unfollowed Agostinelli on all social media platforms ahead of Wimbledon 2024, with an insider telling MailOnline: “Emma has 2.4million followers on Instagram but Carlo is no longer one of them. It seems their relationship has run its course.” His father, Robert, has an estimated wealth of $1billion (£800m).

Boyfriend ban

Raducanu has also previously noted how parents Ion and Renee put a ‘boyfriend ban’ on her when she was younger, in a bid to keep her focused on her training. She told The Times: “My parents were very much against [boyfriends] as it interfered with training.

“When I was younger I wasn’t even allowed to hang out with my girl friends. A lot of the time I was very resentful. But it made me very confident and comfortable in my own company, which is also a big strength.”

Raducanu also cited how she was “forced” into tennis when she was younger, a move which she is incredibly grateful for given her success on the courts. She added: “At the start my dad forced me into tennis. I didn’t like it, but then as I got older and tennis became more of a priority I was pushing myself.

“I’ve seen some great people who I was playing with in the juniors who had way more lenient parents, who were like, ‘It’s okay if you lost,’ and those players don’t play tennis any more, so I don’t blame my parents for it. I am very grateful, and I don’t regret any of their methods.”

Raducanu is still searching for the second Grand Slam of her budding career after achieving US Open greatness back in 2021. The youngster would enjoy singles victories over Renata Zarazua, Elise Mertens and Maria Sakkari throughout the course of Wimbledon 2024, before being beaten by Lulu Sun in the round of 16 6-2, 5-7, 6-2.
