Even without playing, Jannik Sinner continues to break records. Pending his return from the disqualification for the Clostebol case, scheduled at the Internazionali d’Italia, the South Tyrolean has reached a new important milestone: 40 weeks at the top of the ATP ranking.

Thanks to this result, the world number one equalled Ilie Nastase, who has been at the top of the world rankings for 40 weeks. The Italian, together with the former Romanian tennis player, now occupies the fifteenth position in the All-time ranking linked to the players with more weeks at the top of the ATP ranking.

Jannik Sinner now has Andy Murray, the world’s number one in the world for 41 weeks and, currently, in fourteenth place of this special ranking, and Gustavo Kuerten, at the top of the world rankings for 43 weeks, and, currently, thirteenth.

With 11330 points, the blue still has a notable advantage over the pursuers in the ATP ranking. Behind him are Alexander Zverev (8135), resoundingly eliminated in the first round at Indian Wells, and Carlos Alcaraz (7510), engaged with Denis Shapovalov in the sixteenth of the Masters 1000 in California.
