Remember Lorenzo Musetti’s Miami Open run last month? The Italian ace made it to the R16 before falling to Novak Djokovic. But what truly caught fans’ hearts wasn’t just his on-court performance, it was the sweet moment his girlfriend, Veronica Confalonieri, shared on social media. With their son Ludovico watching him train, the video captured a wholesome family moment while his beloved supported him through the training session before his third-round match. Fast forward to the Monte Carlo Open, Musetti has found his rhythm on clay, storming into the final. And once again, Veronica was by his side! This time, Musetti shared his gratitude to her, celebrating the win emphatically. However, what did he do this time?

Lorenzo Musetti’s 2025 season didn’t get off to the blazing start the Italian had hoped for. A disappointing early exit at the AO, followed by underwhelming performances at Indian Wells and Miami, saw the 16th seed struggling to find his rhythm. Despite the talent and potential, momentum seemed elusive, until Monte Carlo. On the familiar red clay, the 23-year-old rediscovered his form, launching a remarkable turnaround that silenced the doubters and reignited his season.

Kicking off with a gritty win over Yunchaokete Bu, Musetti then dispatched Jiri Lehecka, fellow countrymen Matteo Berrettini, and stunned defending champion the Greek ace Stefanos Tsitsipas. In the SF, he battled past 8th seed Alex de Minaur in a nail-biting 1-6, 6-4, 7-6(4) victory. But it wasn’t just his on-court brilliance grabbing attention—off the court, his heartwarming celebration after the match reminded fans that love, support, and belief from those closest can often be the secret ingredient to success.

The most unforgettable moment of Lorenzo Musetti’s Monte Carlo journey came not on the court, but right after his thrilling SF win over Alex de Minaur. Without a 2nd thought, Musetti climbed into the stands, straight into the arms of his girlfriend Veronica Confalonieri. The embrace was heartfelt, emotional, and full of meaning, a beautiful reward after a rollercoaster battle. He then turned to his team, pulling them in for a tight group hug, the joy on their faces saying it all. Capturing the essence of the moment, one of the tennis page “The Tennis Letter” on X shared the video with the touching caption: “Lorenzo Musetti immediately walked over to hug his girlfriend after reaching his first Masters final in Monte Carlo. 🥹❤️”

Even before his SF triumph, the Monte-Carlo Country Club had already witnessed raw emotion from Lorenzo Musetti. After defeating 2-time champion Stefanos Tsitsipas in the QF to secure his 1st-ever ATP Masters 1000 SF spot, the 23-year-old Italian couldn’t hold back his tears. Overwhelmed by the significance of the moment, he broke down in his chair before rushing into the stands to share a tearful embrace with his girlfriend, Veronica Confalonieri, who’d been by his side throughout the journey.

Earlier in the tournament, after Musetti’s hard-fought win over fellow Italian Matteo Berrettini, Confalonieri shared a glimpse of her courtside support on IG. She posted a candid image of Musetti during his post-match interview with a simple but meaningful caption of four ‘flexed-arm emojis’, symbolizing strength, support, and pride.

The couple, who met in 2022 at a ‘Super Tennis’ event where Musetti received the ‘Best Italian Player’ award, have grown closer through life on tour. Veronica, a graphic designer for Sky Sports, has become a beloved figure among tennis WAGs, often sharing glimpses of their glamorous yet grounded life on and off the court.

And while emotions ran high, Musetti focused on what brought him to this point: his tennis. Musetti also opened up about his strategy after edging past Aussie Alex de Minaur in a gripping three-set battle.

“Started to be more patient” Lorenzo Musetti shares his opinion after reaching the final of the Monte Carlo Masters

Musetti stormed into his 1st ATP Masters 1000 final with a thrilling comeback victory over Alex de Minaur at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters. Battling through wet conditions in The Principality, the Italian overcame a sluggish start, dropping the first set 1-6, before showcasing his trademark flair and finesse. Musetti’s court craft came alive in the 2nd and 3rd sets as he dragged De Minaur across the baseline and found his rhythm with precision hitting.

Despite failing to serve out the match at 5-3 in the final set, Musetti kept his composure and clinched a dramatic 1-6, 6-4, 7-6(4) win after two hours and 21 minutes of high-octane tennis. And, right after the victory, he credited his patience level for the ultimate success at red clay.

“I always struggle to start and find a rhythm but today Alex was playing really solid and the conditions were hard. It was slow today with the rain and it was not easy to break through the Alex wall. I started to be more patient and that was the key,” he added at the in-court interview.

Next, Musetti faces the red-hot Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, against whom he trails 1-3 in their H2H. But with patience and confidence now fueling his game, could the Italian overcome the odds and topple Alcaraz in tomorrow’s final?
