Thomas Frank Slams Key Decision After Spurs Defeat — Did Officials Get It Wrong?

Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank didn’t hold back when giving his thoughts after his side’s 2–1 loss to Liverpool in their recent Premier League clash. While Spurs pushed hard, it was Hugo Ekitike’s late header that ultimately stole the headlines — and Frank wasn’t happy with how it came about. 

Speaking after the game, Frank labelled the decision to let the goal stand as “unbelievable”, claiming Ekitike unfairly used his arms in the build-up — a challenge he felt should’ve been whistled for a foul.

 According to the Danish boss, the officials “missed a crucial moment” that changed the momentum of the contest, despite VAR being available to review the incident. While the referee and VAR opted not to overturn the call, Frank insisted the challenge shouldn’t have been allowed to lead to a winning goal.

But that controversial moment wasn’t the only talking point. Spurs struggled with discipline, picking up cards at key moments which compounded their difficulties against a resilient Liverpool side. Frank’s frustration with the officiating, however, dominated the post-match narrative.
