Barcelona offer Liverpool chance to sign Ronald Araujo permanently in January

Barcelona have opened talks with Liverpool over the permanent transfer of Ronald Araujo, with the Catalan club hoping to sell the defender during the January transfer window, according to TEAMtalk. The 27-year-old joined Liverpool on loan towards the end of the summer transfer window.

The Premier League side have been pleased with his performances and are open to making the move permanent. The original loan agreement included a โ‚ฌ55 million purchase option, and Araujo is also reportedly happy to remain at Anfield.

Barcelona, meanwhile, need to raise funds to strengthen their own squad, which could make it difficult for them to agree to a significant reduction in the asking price. One of Barcelona’s priorities is signing a left-footed centre-back.

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has previously been mentioned as a possible target for that position.Read
