🚨 Iraola drops HUGE Alisson update before Kickoff… See more

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola is hopeful that Alisson Becker will extend his stay at Anfield but admits the final decision rests with the goalkeeper and the club.

The Brazilian’s current contract runs until the summer of 2027 after Liverpool triggered a one-year extension earlier this year.

However, uncertainty remains over his long-term future, with Juventus having shown interest in signing the 33-year-old during the summer transfer window. There is a possibility that Alisson could leave Liverpool as a free agent when his deal expires.

Iraola admitted that he does not know whether the current campaign will be Alisson’s last at Anfield but would like to see the experienced goalkeeper stay for longer.

“I don’t know [if this will be Alisson’s last season], that is a question you have to ask him. I hope not, I hope he continues with us for more time.

“But, when you ask me about contracts and these situations, it is a matter for the players and the club.

“Yes we have continuous conversations with Julian but I cannot tell you everything. We talk between us,” Iraola has said.

The Liverpool boss also confirmed that he has discussed the situation with sporting director Julian Ward, although he declined to reveal further details about their conversations.
